Join our 6th Annual Christmas Celebration!

Christmas at the Crossroads is Shelter KC’s annual celebration of Christmas serving adults experiencing homelessness. Last year, 70% of the people in attendance had never used our services before.

This premier holiday event offers fun, food, and fellowship with carnival-style booths, a traditional holiday meal, care package giveaways, and more.

This event would not be possible without the help and prayers of our volunteers and supporters. Host a Care Package Donation Drive

Support our goal of distributing 750 care packages to adults experiencing homelessness in Kansas City by organizing a donation drive within your organization, church, or community group. These packages provide essential items that bring comfort and dignity during the holiday season.

How to Get Started

1. Choose Your Items
Collect full-size hygiene and winter essentials, including:

  • Chapstick
  • Body wash
  • Deodorant
  • Toothpaste and toothbrushes
  • Razors and shaving cream
  • Hats and gloves
  • Christmas cards with encouraging messages

2. Coordinate Your Drive

Set up collection bins at your location and promote the drive to your network. Donation barrels and personalized informational flyers are available upon request. Please contact our Community Engagement Coordinator or a member of our Development Team for details and help organizing your drive.

3. Deliver Your Donations

Drop off your collected items at the Shelter KC's Administrative Office:

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM

If your group prefers to assemble care packages on-site, please contact us to arrange a volunteer opportunity.

If your organization is located within a reasonable distance, our team may be able to pick up donated items at the conclusion of your drive. Please contact us to request and schedule a pickup.
