Church Partnerships: Serving Together in Christ

At Shelter KC, our faith guides everything we do. We’re thankful for local churches that share our mission, standing alongside us to bring real, tangible hope to our neighbors in need. When your church partners with us, you become part of a vibrant community united in love, service, and transformation.

How to Get Started

If you're interested in volunteering, please complete our Volunteer Interest Form. Our Community Engagement Coordinator will get in touch to learn about your group’s talents, passion, and availability—and to recommend meaningful service opportunities.

Partner with Purpose

Here are impactful ways your church can engage:

  • Financial & In Kind Support
Allocate mission funds or host collection drives for items like clothing, hygiene products, or non-perishables—especially those needed immediately. Every gift is put to use right away.

  • Group Volunteering
Whether cooking meals, serving tables, sorting donations, cleaning, or tackling special projects, church teams play a vital role. We’ll coordinate based on your group's size, schedule, and interests.

  • Hosting Guest Events
Offer a memorable experience—kayaking outings, men’s tailgates, family picnics. We love creative event ideas that bless our guests in fun, restorative ways.

  • Speakers Bureau
Invite staff, volunteers, or guests to share testimonies at church services or community events. These stories of transformation fuel encouragement and generosity.

Why it Matters

  • Local Impact: Over 2,000 Kansas City residents face homelessness each night—30% are families, 20% are veterans, and many are women at high risk. Your partnership helps meet physical needs and restore dignity.
  • Mission Alignment: Our Christ-centered, faith-driven values resonate with churches, creating unified purpose and impactful outreach.
