At Shelter KC we offer more than emergency shelter. Through three interconnected ministries — the Men’s Center, Women’s Center, and Educational Services — we walk alongside men and women from their first night off the street to the day they rebuild an independent life. Every program is rooted in the belief that lasting change is possible, by the grace of God.

Women’s Center
A home for women ready
to heal, grow, and rebuild.
Opened in 2013 after Shelter KC surveyed 27 local agencies and confirmed a critical gap in services for single, homeless women in Kansas City, the Women’s Center is a 20-bed residential recovery facility located near downtown at 2611 E. 11th Street.

A safe haven for men
seeking shelter and recovery.
Located at 1520 Cherry St. in downtown Kansas City, the Men’s Center provides emergency overnight shelter, three structured recovery pathways, and comprehensive support services — all delivered with dignity, accountability, and the love of Christ.
Programs for Residents
Breaking the cycle starts with a skill, a credential, a plan.
Available to long-term guests across both campuses, Shelter KC’s Educational Services provide the practical tools men and women need to achieve lasting independence — from basic literacy through workforce re-entry and financial self-sufficiency.
