A place for new beginnings
For the last 75 years, Shelter KC has been a place of refuge, transformation, and new beginnings. Through the Transformations Campaign, we have significantly grown our impact to serve more individuals on their journey toward lasting change. Phase 1 included expanding our services with our Renew Mental Health and Respite Center. Phase 2 is nearing completion, establishing a brand-new facility in our existing parking lot, with essential space to support our Christ-centered recovery program, Christian Community and Recovery (C-COR).
We are under construction, but we are still OPEN!
Donation Hours: MON–FRI | 8AM – 3PM
If you need to coordinate a drop-off outside of these hours, please contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
How To Find Us
- Cherry Street is one-way, northbound
- Follow the construction fence line along Cherry Street
- Pull over to the left where you see the orange cones (shown on map)
Important Access Information
Where to Enter
- Please check in at the door on the left, closest to the construction site, along the fence line
- Door is located just past the black warehouse door
- We are happy to assist you with unloading your donation and can provide a receipt if needed.

With Phase One of our renovations now complete, Shelter KC is excited to begin the next chapter—Phase Two. Staying true to our mission of walking alongside individuals experiencing homelessness, many of whom are navigating mental health challenges, medical recovery, crisis situations, and trauma, we remain committed to offering more than shelter—we offer light, hope, and opportunity.
Phase Two builds on this foundation by focusing on creating spaces that foster dignity, respect, and the environment needed for long-term transformation. As our vision expands, so does our excitement to grow the mission and deepen our impact. Phase Two renovations include:
