Christian Community of Recovery
Freedom Begins with a New Foundation
Breaking free from addiction takes courage, commitment, and a community willing to walk alongside you.
Shelter KC’s Christian Community of Recovery (C-COR) is a long-term, Christ-centered recovery program for men ready to leave life-controlling addiction behind and pursue a new way of living. Through structured recovery, biblical discipleship, practical life skills, and supportive relationships, participants are equipped to build lives marked by sobriety, stability, and purpose.
More Than Recovery—A New Way Forward
The goal isn’t simply to stop using. It’s to build a life worth living. Through C-COR, men are encouraged to develop the practical, spiritual, and relational foundations they need to move forward with confidence.

Transition & Alumni Programming
The journey doesn’t end when the program does. Men prepare for independent living by pursuing stable employment, education, financial responsibility, and housing. The Alumni Ministry provides continued connection, encouragement, and opportunities to mentor and give back.

Address the deeper issues behind destructive behaviors while developing a personalized recovery plan and growing in faith, relationships, employment readiness, and personal responsibility.
3. Discipleship 2 | 13 Weeks
Begin preparing for greater independence by developing a plan for employment, education, and stable housing.
4. Transition | Up to 1 Year
Put recovery into practice by pursuing employment or education, managing finances, securing stable housing, and building a sustainable life beyond the program.
Ready to Take the First Step?
A new life is possible. A new beginning starts with one step.
C-COR begins with a willingness to pursue something different.
Men interested in the program first complete intake at the Men’s Center and are connected with a Life Coach. From there, they can learn more about C-COR, complete an application, and participate in an interview as they begin the enrollment process.
