The first time Jesse came to Shelter KC, all he wanted was “to get the program done and make it look good. To say ‘Hey, I did it.’ I didn’t take in a lot of the stuff offered me. I just kind of skimmed by.”

“That worked for about eight years, then my son was born. He was autistic and I used that as an excuse to start drinking again. Before I knew it, here I was at Shelter KC again.”
